Web Sites Offer Hints About New Vegas Attractions
La Reve, Zumanity Offer Teasing Information

LAS VEGAS -- A pair of new Web sites are offering small but tantalizing glimpses into the future of Las Vegas, as the newest Cirque du Soliel show and the most expensive mega-resort ever go online.

Zumanity.com is the Internet home for the upcoming Cirque show at New York-New York. Although details are scarce, the site seems to support the widely held contention that "Zumanity" will be a more adult version of the relatively family-friendly "Mystere" and "O." In fact, while it has not been confirmed, it is believed the new show may even feature topless dancers.

So far, the only thing the Web site says for sure is that the show, "a provocative exhibition of human sensuality, arousal and eroticism," will open on July 31. It goes on to tout "Zumanity" as "an intense visit to a world where human inhibitions are both unveiled and discarded, where style and intense sensual passion share an uncommon stage."

Perhaps most telling, though, is the warning page that requires anyone accessing the site to proclaim that they are at least 18 years of age. Once in, users can sign up for e-mail updates.

Even less forthcoming with information but no less tantalizing is LeReve.com, the future online home for Steve Wynn's upcoming mega-resort, currently under construction at the former site of the Desert Inn. So far it's just a splash page with a "Web site coming soon" declaration, but the hotel's logo is prominent and may offer clues, with its bold primary colors sticking closely to the Picasso painting from which the name was culled, and a vaguely Mardi Gras mask drawing accompanying it.

Wynn has not released any sketches or designs of the new hotel yet, but I've heard a variety of theories on the final look and feel, ranging from a virtual copy of Bellagio's muted earth tones, to a southwestern-desert scheme. Each of these seems in stark contrast to the bright colors of the new logo, which is curious, since Wynn is famous for his attention to detail.

The new hotel is tentatively scheduled to open on March 29, 2005. You can visit the Le Reve page on Vegas4Visitors.com for updates as we get them.
