Baby's Body Found In Trash Bag In North Carolina

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Winston-Salem police are investigating the discovery of a baby boy's body in a trash bag inside a home.Officers responded Thursday night to Forsyth Medical Center and learned Vicentia Colon Noyola, 27, was being treated after she gave birth at her home.
Police went to the home and searched it. The baby, Colon Noyola, was found inside a trash bag. Emergency Services responded and determined the child was dead.
Vicentia Noyola was still in the hospital Friday morning.A neighbor said that Vicentia Noyola had lived at the home for three to four months. Noyola has another child that is now with child protective services, according to WXII-TV in Winston-Salem.An autopsy is pending, police said. No charges have been filed.North Carolina's Safe Surrender Law allows an overwhelmed mother to surrender her newborn to a responsible adult and walk away. The baby will then be adopted. An infant up to seven days old may be surrendered to any responsible adult.
