Pearl River Bridge Closure Puts Drivers On Scenic Route
Truck Crashes Into Span Friday
It is now harder to drive from Copiah to Simpson County
The Pearl River Bridge along Highway 28 is closed after a truck hauling heavy equipment crashed into the bridge Friday night.
Traffic is rerouted around the bridge, making life difficult for some residents.
"I go 20 miles and come out to Hopewell to get to Georgetown," one driver said.
It is not yet known how long repairs will take.
